AD, General Ledger A description begins General Ledger A, 1750–1772. Library of Congress, George Washington Papers, Series 5, Financial Papers. description ends , folio 302.

Benoni Kent of Fairfax County died c.1774.

GW went across the Potomac to Georgetown on 5 Mar. before going to Robert Alexander’s for “a hunting Party” that lasted through 7 Mar. (Diaries description begins Donald Jackson and Dorothy Twohig, eds. The Diaries of George Washington. 6 vols. Charlottesville, Va., 1976–79. description ends , 2:219).

William Crawford was at Mount Vernon on 22 and 23 March. The £8.15 in Pennsylvania currency that GW gave Crawford on this day was for him to buy surveying instruments in Philadelphia; the £57 (£45, £8, and £4), also in Pennsylvania currency, was payment for Crawford to survey and obtain for GW the rights to land along Ten Mile Creek and to survey land adjoining Crawford’s tract on the Youghiogheny (see General Ledger A description begins General Ledger A, 1750–1772. Library of Congress, George Washington Papers, Series 5, Financial Papers. description ends , folio 115, 313, 315, and 316). Crawford was unable to follow through with the survey on Ten Mile Creek (see Crawford to GW, 5 May 1770).

Robert Jones, a ship carpenter, worked on GW’s boats. See General Ledger A description begins General Ledger A, 1750–1772. Library of Congress, George Washington Papers, Series 5, Financial Papers. description ends , folio 315.
