Dear Sir
I am favd with yours of the 20th Feby inclosing a letter from Lieut. Coune of the 62d Regt to Genl Howe. I shall send in the letter and shall have no objection to his Exchange if Genl Howe consents.1
As Ensign Winslips health does not admit of his remaining in the Service, I would have you accept of his resignation.
The wax which you mention to have sent forward is not yet come to hand. Having wrote to you fully on the 27th ulto I have only to recommend the continuance of the removal of all supernumerary Stores from Boston. I am Dear Sir Yr most obt Servt

1. The letter from Lt. Conolly Coane to Gen. William Howe has not been identified. Coane, who had been appointed an ensign in the 62d Regiment in September 1773 and promoted to lieutenant in December 1775, was captured when Lt. Gen. John Burgoyne surrendered at Saratoga in October 1777. Coane was not exchanged at this time, but in 1780 he obtained a parole to his native Ireland (see GW to Board of War, 25 June 1780, DLC:GW; , 17:578; notebook on prisoners of war, 1775–1782, DNA:PCC, item 59; and GW to Board of War, 15 Sept. 1780, DLC:GW).
