From George Washington to Colonel Elias Dayton, 22 August 1777
To Colonel Elias Dayton
Head Quarters Neshamini [Pa.] 22d August 1777.
Sir
You are immediately upon Receipt of this to march your Regiment and Colonel Ogdens with all their Baggage by way of Trenton to join your Brigade—You will make all convenient haste on the March, and it is probable that you will fall in with the Brigade at Philadelphia or somewhere below that Place. I am Sir &c.
