A draft of another letter from GW to White, in James McHenry’s writing and dated 7 Dec., reads: “As the enemies shipping have returned, you will be pleased immediately upon receipt of this to proceed with the Regiment to Lancaster, where you are to fix your winter quarters—and be regulated by the written instructions addressed to Colonel Moylan” (DLC:GW).
