To Benjamin Franklin from Claude-Mammès de Pahin Champlain de La Blancherie, 12 April 1779

From Claude-Mammès de Pahin Champlain de La Blancherie8

AL: American Philosophical Society

Le 12 avril. 1779.

M. frankelin.

8The enterprising La Blancherie (for whom see XXVI, 379) inserted a notice about the meeting in the April 14 issue of the Jour. de Paris: the Agent Général de Correspondance pour les Sciences et les Arts, it reports, will receive scholars and artists in the new location on the rue de Tournon. La Blancherie may have needed BF’s presence all the more since he had recently been under attack in the columns of that journal: March 1, pp. 239–40; March 5, p. 255; and March 7, p. 263.
