Mr. Hy. Grand’s most respectfull Compliments wait on Doctor Franklin sends him according to his father’s request the inclosed Letter, to which he will be pleased to honour him with an answer as soon as possible.8 What his Excellency May have determined relative to his Account will also be very agreable as Mr. Grand will loose no time in winding of it up in that form, if it is approved.

7. If our conjecture about the enclosure is correct (below), this letter would precede BF to Fizeaux, Grand & Cie. of April 23.
8. We believe the enclosure was a note (undated, APS) in the hand of M. Le Breton of Rouen: he has received a bill of lading for eight boxes of printing type sent by Fizeaux, Grand & Cie. for BF. Does BF intend to have it enter the country by passport? If so, he should send one right away. On the verso, the same hand wrote “reponce à Mr. Grand” and the note is endorsed “BF.” A M. Le Breton is listed as one of the leading merchants of Rouen and “signataire” of an insurance company in the Almanach des marchands, p. 417.
