Parole Sullivan— C. Signs New-Town. Titcomb.
The General Court-Martial whereof Colonel Marshal is President is dissolved, and another General Court Martial of the line ordered to sit tomorrow morning nine ôclock at the usual place for the trial of all such persons as shall come before them whereof Colonel Putnam is appointed President.1

Caleb Gibbs’s receipt book includes an entry of this date for $2,000, signed by Gibbs and written at headquarters at West Point, N.Y.: “Received of the Dy Pay Master General two thousand dollars for the use of defraying the Expence of His Excellency General Washington’s family which I am to Account for” (Revolutionary War Receipt Book, 1776–1780, DLC:GW, Ser. 5).

At this place in the text, the 6th Maryland Regiment’s orderly book entry for this date includes the following additional general order: “a Capt. from the Maryland Line—a Lt Colo. or Major and a Capt. from the Pennsylvania; the Garrison Light Infantry & Connecticut Line give a Lt Colo. or Major & 2 Capts. each for the Court” (DLC: Peter Force Collection).
