Treasury Department, Revenue Office, October 8, 1794. Requests “a remittance to John S. Dexter Esqr. Supervisor of Rd. Island, for the purpose of making a payment of eight thousand Dollars to Brown & Francis & others owners of the Furnace Hope,1 on account of a contract for supplying cannon for the Frigates and Fortifications.”
