Paris, 18 May 1789. They send the “notte de l’Equivalent” requested by TJ: “237.6s. florins courant font à l’agio de 3% 230.7.6. florins de Banque, et ceux ci, au change de 54¼, £509.10.7. argent de France.”

DC (DLC); endorsed by TJ: “1789. May 17. 509.₶10.7 = 237ƒ.6 draught Willinks V. Staphorst & Hubard.” Not recorded in SJL. TJ’s request may have been in writing; it has not been found and is not recorded in SJL.
