Treasury Department, Revenue Office, May 6, 1794. “I have the honor to request that there may be issued to Tench Francis Esquire a warrant for six thousand Dollars; that sum being stated by Mr. Francis to be immediately necessary to carry on the works for the defence of the Port of Philadelphia.”
