Sir,
I have the honor to enclose herein, for your approbation, leases of two lead mines in the Territory of Missouri, executed by the Recorder of Land titles at St. Louis, to Saml. Hammond and to Hammond & Connor.1 I have the honor &c.

1. On 13 Dec. 1814 Meigs informed Frederick Bates, recorder of land titles at St. Louis, that JM had approved the leases; on 14 Dec. he sent copies of the leases to Nathan Lufborough, acting comptroller of the Treasury (DNA: RG 49, Division C, Misc. Letters Sent).
