Will you please to submit to the President of the United States, the enclosed extract of a letter from major Craig, dated at Pittsburg the 24th instant.1 Your’s sincerely

1Maj. Isaac Craig (1746–1826) of Pennsylvania, a Revolutionary War veteran, served as deputy quartermaster general 1792–96. Craig’s letter to Knox of 24 May contained information on the state of provisions as the troops under Gen. Anthony Wayne began their descent of the Ohio River on 30 April (Craig to Knox, 24 May 1793, T: James Robertson Papers; Knox to Wayne, 17 May 1793, in Knopf, Wayne, description begins Richard C.
