A transcript of another orderly book from GW’s headquarters includes a general order for this date that reads: “The regimental paymasters will apply for the pay for the months of March, April, and May” (NN: Bancroft Collection).

GW’s warrant book for this date records a payment of $70 to “Christopher Colles, preceptor of Mathameticles to the Artillery for June” (Revolutionary War Warant Book 4, 1779–1780, DLC:GW, Ser. 5).
