Th: Jefferson has the honor to inclose to the President the draught of a letter to mister Pinckney.1 also the paper sent to him for the signatures now put to it.2

1. Later on this date GW approved Jefferson’s letter to Thomas Pinckney of 4 June, whose topics included the search in Great Britain for skilled artisans to work at the U.S. Mint, British impressment of American seamen, and the imprisonment of Lafayette ( , 160; , 26:191–92).
2. The enclosed paper was the Cabinet Opinion on Georgia and the Creek Indians of 29 May 1793. Tobias Lear had included this document with his letter to Jefferson of 31 May, in which he asked Jefferson to have the opinion signed by the Cabinet members at their 1 June meeting.
