Carlile [Pa.] the 19th Jully 1758

Sir

I am desired by General Forbes to acquaint you that there is sent up to Rays Town in Order to be forwarded to you at Fort Cumberland Eighty tents with Tent poles compleat for the use of your Regiment & Colonel Byrds.1 This number is all we have at this place at present. I am Sir Your most Obedient & most humble Servt

1. Forbes wrote Bouquet on 17 July: “Capt Sinclair writes you about some tents &c that go from this to morrow or wednesday to be sent to F: Cumberland and some Arms about all which you will give orders as they will be addressed to you” (Stevens, Bouquet Papers description begins Donald H. Kent et al., eds. The Papers of Henry Bouquet. 6 vols. Harrisburg, Pa., 1951-94. description ends , 2:224–25). Sinclair wrote to Bouquet on 19 July saying that he was sending eighteen wagons to Raystown, two of which carried tents for the Virginia regiments (ibid., 230).
