1. After his marriage in 1759 and until 1766, GW continued the Custis practice of sending James Gildart of Liverpool a few hogsheads of tobacco from time to time. He had last drawn on his account with Gildart on 28 Jan. 1772, and with this action in 1773 he was seeking to close out the account. His ledger, however, shows £34.6.9½ still outstanding in 1793 ( , folio 107; , folio 11; , 1).
