J Madison presents his respects to Col: Randolph, & incloses a misdirected letter of Mr. Faulcon.1 The copy of proceedings referred to in the letter was not come with it.

1John Faulcon was president of the Agricultural Society of Surry County, Virginia (see PJM-RS description begins David B. Mattern et al., eds., The Papers of James Madison: Retirement Series (4 vols. to date; Charlottesville, Va., 2009–). description ends , 2:591 n.). The enclosed letter was likely addressed to JM as president of the Agricultural Society of Albemarle; JM forwarded it to Randolph, who was the society’s president in 1828 (True, “Minute Book of the Albemarle Agricultural Society,” printed in Annual Report of the American Historical Association for […] 1918, 1:338).
