9. This Grammont may be the président of the parlement of Toulouse who was to have represented BF at an academic ceremony in that city the previous spring: XXXVII, 396–7. Another possibility is Ferdinand, marquis de Grammont (1709–1797), a retired lieutenant general in the French army (DBF).
