[New York, February 11, 1792. On February 27, 1792, Hamilton wrote to Childs: “I duly received your letter of the 11th instant.” Letter not found.]

1Childs was editor of The [New York] Daily Advertiser and printer for the state of New York. He also provided financial support and publication arrangements for the [Philadelphia] National Gazette, which had commenced publication on October 31, 1791, under the editorial management of Philip Freneau.
