PrC (DLC: TJ Papers, 60: 10461); in Remsen’s hand except for “No. 15.” inserted by TJ at head of text. Tr (DNA: RG 59, Record of Reports of Thomas Jefferson). Dft (DLC: TJ Papers, 233: 41645); in French, entirely in TJ’s hand; this shows that the “official Statement” mentioned above was derived from the “Bureau de la balance du commerce,” for (like the two following drafts) it is written on the same slip of paper with Dft of No. 16. Another Dft (DLC: TJ Papers, 53: 8983); in TJ’s hand, with number undesignated and with the item of rice at the bottom of the tabulation. FC (DLC: TJ Papers, 53: 8993); in Remsen’s hand except for the number inserted by TJ and the following note in pencil opposite the entry for rice: “make rice the first article in the table.”
