Mr. Henry Cruger left with you sometime past, Some papers belonging to his Brother respecting the Seizure of Capt. Burke on Hispaniola; that Gentleman has now directed me to Call for them and forward them on to him; I shall be therefore obliged to you to deliver them to the Bearer, as I mean to send them on this day. John Nixon (1733–1808) was a Philadelphia merchant and Revolutionary War veteran who served as city alderman from 1789 to 1796 and as president of the Bank of North America from 1792 until his death (). The papers may have been enclosed in Nicholas Cruger to TJ, 8 Apr. 1793, recorded in SJL as received 16 Apr. 1793 but not found.
