Mount Vernon 21st July 1766.

Gentn,

Having made very little Tobacco last year, it is out of my power to Ship you any this, I have therefore desired Mr Gildart to pay you the Balle of my Acct—to wit £1.13.7¾.1 I am Gentn Yr Most Obedt Servt

ALB, DLC:GW. GW noted, “By the Fryer, Captn Pollard.” Joshua Pollard of the snow Fryer cleared the Potomac River on 3 Oct. 1766 bound for Liverpool.
