1Affixed to William Carlin’s itemized account for making clothes for GW’s servants, dated 26 June 1771, is Carlin’s receipt for £5.7.4, dated 13 Feb. 1772. A transcript of the manuscript of Carlin’s account, owned in 1978 by Mr. Leon H. Becker, Rancho La Corta, Calif., is in CD-ROM:GW.
