I nominate Abraham Ogden to be Attorney for the United States in the District of New Jersey, in place of Richard Stockton who has resigned.

Abraham Ogden (1743–1798), an attorney, served as an officer in the New Jersey militia from 1776 to 1779 and as a member of the New Jersey legislature in 1790. His nomination was presented to the Senate on 3 Jan. 1791 by Lear and was confirmed the next day ( 2:102). Ogden served until 1798.
