I take the Liberty of annexing you Duplicate of what I had the Honour of writing your Excellency 9 May last1—As Mr Pollock is at so great a distance from Mount Vernon & Philadelphia, he thinks ’tis my best mode to Employ a friend either in Baltimore or Philadelphia to wait on your Excellency—in consequence, have desired Mr Pollock to hand over all the Papers relative to Mrs. savages affairs to Mr David McCormick of Philadelphia with a Power of Attorney from him to Mr McCormick.2
I shan’t say further to your Excellency at present, than requesting a Speedy reply to Mr McCormick. having the Honour to be your Excellencys Obedt Hble St

On 8 May 1795 McCormick wrote to GW’s secretary Bartholomew Dandridge, Jr.: “The enclose’d letter I received some time past from a Gentleman in Dublin, whom I have not the pleasure of being auquainted with at the same time his concerns was recommended to me by one of my freind’s the letter will explain the nature of the business, and when the President is at leisure to make any communication to me on the subject of the letter, permit me to request your intimation, as it is urged I should have a personal interveiw with the President” (DLC:GW). No response to McCormick’s letter has been identified.
